Whether it's a game, the store, or even "my games and apps" i get the "for some reason x took too long to start." this is only fixed by doing a full restart of my xbox one and once i start installing something it happens again.. Go to the my games & apps application , scroll down to the queue tab, scroll down to the game you want to pause, press the menu button (the small button under the xbox button, on the right side, with the three stripes on), scroll down to pause installation, wait a couple of seconds.. Then as the game is just about to start loading up quit it from the dashboard. now go back to games and apps and pause installation of the game. launch the game again and quit once more from the dashboard..
