Ems is known to have a high burnout rate. i've seen stats saying the average career in ems only lasts about 5 years. a year or so ago i saw an article that ranked emt/paramedic as the 7 worst job (out of 250) in the us.. With a burnout rate averaging only a few years, there will be less experienced paramedics and emts to work with the elderly. but those within the industry share a different view on what causes burnout..
