Microsoft, i am having two separate problems with age of empires ii. i am using a windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. the game seems to . load correctly.. If this is the original age of empires 2 (released in 1999) and not the hd remastered version (released in 2013) then you likely will need to run it in compatibility mode. just right click the icon -->click properties --> click compatibility tab --> check the run this program in compatibility mode for: and choose xp.. I used age of empires ii & the expansion pack when i had windows 2000, but for some reason can't use them on windows 7. btw, the irony of a windows program not being able to work on windows hasn't escaped me..
